AsiaDHRRA joined the project inception workshop on the Global Agricultural and Food Security Program (GAFSP) from September 23 to 25, 2025, in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The workshop supports GASFP in strengthening its partnerships with civil society organizations (CSOs) and producers’ organizations (POs) and is attended by civil society consortium representatives from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
With a focus on field-based monitoring and evaluation, knowledge-sharing, learning, and communication, the consortium similarly supports GASFP, ensuring CSOs’ and POs’ active role in informing the use of funds, addressing cross-cutting themes on climate, nutrition, and gender, particularly in fragile contexts. In addition, the consortium explores facilitating project-level participatory reviews, lessons, and stories documentation, as well as how GASFP can improve its investments in a transformative and sustainable agri-food system, address climate change, and support women and youth.
The activity served as a space for consortium members to review methodologies and tools, major country-level reviews, trends, and findings of previous GASFP portfolios. Further, the participants will discuss, review, and update the project’s work plan and budget, including inputs on the GASFP Vision 2030.
GASFP is a World Bank-funded initiative led by ActionAid International with consortium members from Eastern and Southern Africa Small-Scale Farmers Forum (ESAFF), AsiaDHRRA, and Coordination pour des Actions en Santé et en Développement d’Haïti (COSADH).
