AsiaDHRRA participated in Family Farming Regional Platform Inter-Regional Dialogues organized on August 12-14, 2025, in Kathmandu, Nepal. With a theme “Family Farming and Inclusive Rural Transformation: innovations for sustainable development in a climate change context”, AsiaDHRRA, represented by the Secretary-General, Ms. Marlene Ramirez, contributed to a thematic table on Rural Communication Services implications for the Digital Farmers’ Program session: The case of the Philippines.

The occasion included visiting a women-led Small Farmer Agriculture Cooperative (SFAC) in Kewelpur, Dhading, a district located in Bagmati province, 35 km from Kathmandu. The two-decade-old organization has successfully provided services to its members through training and capital to raise livestock and produce fruits and vegetables to increase the needed household income.
The significant event has brought representatives from farmers’ organizations, government, civil society organizations, and the academe to share knowledge, innovation, and policy dialogues across the regions. The Regional Technical Platform for Family Farming was created by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which aims to promote regional dialogue and a collaborative digital space and accessible resources of innovative practices in family farming.
