The Lao Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Asia (LaoDHRRA), in coordination with the Public Information and Awareness Services for Vulnerable Communities in Lao PDR Project (PIASVC), conducted a field visit to update and monitor project implementation in three villages in Phaxay District of Xieng Khouang Province, Lao PDR on June 3-5, 2025. The villages are supported by LaoDHRRA, and the project activities are focused on the dissemination of land law information in collaboration with the country’s national and local governments.

The activity is the completion of project implementation under Phase 1, highlighting the significance of the grassroots communities’ laws about land and natural resources and their importance to their daily lives. The subject is also crucial to local farmers who are directly involved in implementing responsible agricultural investment, contract farming, and customary land rights. Furthermore, the event aimed to improve the villagers’ understanding and awareness of the lawful use of land and resources while promoting mutual agreement among stakeholders and parties.
The meeting was joined by officials from the national and provincial offices of the Department of Land, Department of Justice, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the district offices of Justice and Agriculture and Forestry. In addition, the participating officials were trained to share legal knowledge and practical lessons with the community effectively.
