The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Ministry of Rural Development of Cambodia, focal point to the Senior Officials Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (SOMRDPE), in collaboration with the Resilience Development Institute (RDI) organized the second webinar on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (RDPE) on August 15, 2025 with the theme “Strengthening Partnerships and Community Investments for Inclusive Rural Development and Sustainable Growth”.

AsiaDHRRA and the Cambodian Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (CamboDHRRA) presented cases on sessions relating to “Strengthening Public-Private-People Partnerships for Inclusive Agri-Food Value Chains and Market Access” and “Advancing Youth Integration Through Technical and Financial Support for Community Investment Plans (CIPs)”.  AsiaDHRRA’s Program Officer for Agri-Enterprise Development, Mr. Affan Firmansyah, presented and discussed Promoting Value Chains and Market Access on inclusive agri-foods in the MSME sector.  In addition, CamboDHRRA’s Secretary-General, Mr. Him Noeun, highlighted the Best Practice of Youth-Led Community Investment Models.

The event aimed to strengthen regional dialogue and cooperation on engaging rural youth by providing technical and financial support opportunities, including enriching local entrepreneurship and improving livelihoods and resilience.  Given the persistent challenges of market access, poverty, and infrastructure, the crucial role of rural youth is identified to ensure development and long-term sustainability across Southeast Asia.
