AsiaDHRRA participated in the “Regional Forum to Deepen Stakeholder Awareness and Engagement on the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan” organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on August 19, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur and via video conference.  Secretary-General Ms. Marlene Ramirez joined the panel discussion on “Reinventing Cooperation and Partnership in the Context of ASEAN Community Vision (ACV) 2045,” which highlighted the importance of the ASCC Strategic Plan (SP) to be understood, widely supported, and advocated for by regional, national, and local communities to ensure achieving its goals.

The ASCC Strategic Plan was developed in alignment with the ACV 2045, reflecting the goals to empower women and youth, preserve culture, promote health, reduce development gaps, and enable sustainable and inclusive growth. Accordingly, the regional forum will serve as a platform to build thrust among key actors, increase awareness, and align with national development priorities.

ASEAN’s Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn delivered remarks and officiated the launch of the ASCC Strategy Plan together with the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Arts of Malaysia and the ASCC Council Chair for 2025, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, as well as the Ambassador of Japan to ASEAN, Kiya Masahiko.
